PROJECTDESCRIPTION
The Designreport Greece is a design research project of "labor visuell", a unit of the Department of Design at the University Of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf/Germany.
In 2010, Anastasios Koupantsis and Alexandros Michalakopoulos examined during a several-month stay in Greece the local design scene, the history of design, but also the current political and social changes in the country. In the middle of demonstrations and a mixture of fear of the future and hope, they interviewed 20 local design bureaus and designers.
The result is a 74-minute documentary film, which will have its premiere in the scope of a two-day event on 1st and 2nd of july 2011. There is also an accompanying exhibition with work, lectures and discussion forums of the invited design bureaus, providing insights into greek design and creating approaches for a common future of european culture.
